Clothing Recommendations

The following is recommended:

  • One set of  lightweight, warm weather apparel which dries quickly
  • One set polypropylene long underwear
  • Polar fleece pants and shirts for layering
  • Heavier fleece jacket
  • Wool sweater or sweat shirt (Windstopper fleece is what we wear)
  • Long-billed or broad-rimmed hat – for sun protection – if the weather is warmer
  • Winter hat and cloves – if the weather is cooler
  • Casual, comfortable clothes for dining and cocktails

Sun Protection

Because of the hole in the ozone over the Antarctic, Southern Chile is exposed to extreme ultraviolet radiation. Sun block with a minimum SPF of 30 is recommended for both your lips and skin. Polarized sunglasses will protect your eyes from UV radiation and hooks, as well as, help you to see fish in our gin clear waters.
